I’ve been incredibly silent for the past month or two, and I am very sorry. I’ve been having an awesome time studying graphic design! You can see some of the work I’ve produced on my Behance Profile (if you’re interested, here’s the link: Erin’s Behance Portfolio).
I thought I would keep going with this acne puzzle… This image shows my progression in 4 month periods… March, July and November (now).
I am very happy with my progress! Basically, at the moment, I’m left with bumps and scars and red and purple marks… Which isn’t so bad. I’m not in pain anymore, I can smile without it hurting, and I am feeling a lot more confident with my appearance.
I am getting a few around my chin when I get my period, but it’s nothing like it used to be! I am hardly getting any on my cheeks or forehead anymore.
I’ve started taking these tablets called SkinB5, and I think they have really been helping! I started taking them about 2 months ago, and already I can feel and see a difference! If you’re interested, heres the link to their website: SkinB5.
I’ve also been using the SkinB5 facial cleanser, which is really light and doesn’t dry or irritate my skin. I want to get the moisturiser soon too, just to see whether it makes even more of a difference! It would be awesome if it did!
I will take some more detailed photos when I get back home!
Anyway, I think that’s all I can say for the moment.
Take care,
Always remember that you are beautiful.
Love from Erin.
Do you like paper planes?
I would like to show you guys a little web creation I’ve done!
It’s something fun to do when you’ve got nothing better to do! Or just something to waste your time on! :)
Feel free to share it with your friends! :)
Why so self conscious?
So many teenagers and women today have self esteem issues. And what brings it out so terribly? Well, it could be the media, portraying the perfect image of a woman (very thin and beautiful)… Or it could just be societies pressure on everyone to look their best and do their best in everything!
Today I’m talking about self esteem issues as only last night have I come to the realisation that my self esteem issues go further than I ever before thought! I guess it’s a good thing that I’ve realised that it’s a bigger problem, as I can take steps toward fixing them. But how? How can I when I’m flooded with images of beautiful thin women on the covers of magazines, with perfect skin and perfect everything! It’s not easy to love yourself when it’s easier to love the way they look…
But I’ve always thought, what’s worth being self conscious over? We can’t change the way we look, we are going to be stuck in this body forever, why not love it! It’s so true though, who cares what those other women look like! You’re unique and beautiful… You have your own unique personality and talents and oddities… We need to embrace these things, focus on the things that we love about ourselves and let the negative things go! We’ve all got out negatives… Just likeThe yin and yang has black and white… It’s a balance!
I just feel incredibly hurt at the moment because of this fact… And I really want to take steps toward fixing it!
Also, in sorry I haven’t posted in a while… University has been crazy! But I’ll have some cool things to show you all once I’m done! ;)
Take care
Always remember that you are beautiful
Love Erin.
My first facial…
Was amazing!
I really like my beauty therapist. She makes me feel comfortable, and not many people can do that! It felt great too! Afterward my face felt so soft! It was a bit red, but that’s to be expected! :)
The facial seems to have reduced the inflammation and calmed the already active pimples down! Which is awesome!
I’m planning on getting it done once a month if I can!

Progress with Mukti
I know I don’t post on a regular basis, but I hope to only post things that are relevant to me and you.
Today I am going to post something that’s probably more relevant for me.
I went to a beauty therapist on Monday and bought some new face products. These products are helping my face feel fresh and clean, which is always good when you have acne.
One problem I am having is with the moisturiser. It’s too thin. It would work perfectly with someone with oily skin, but my skin just feels too dry with it! It smells lovely and feels lovely, but i think I am going to ask whether I can combine it with an oil in the areas that I feel need more hydration. That’s why I have acne, my skin isn’t hydrated. For some reason water doesn’t pass through quickly enough so my face is left dry with blemishes!
I know some people would think “NO DON’T PUT OIL ON YOUR FACE, IT’LL MAKE IT WORSE”. Indeed that is incorrect. Perhaps if you have oily skin then yes, it may produce a negative result if the wrong oil is used. However, oil for a dry/sensitive skin can really help hydrate and therefore reduce inflammation (or just make your face feel nice and soft, which is what I want! I don’t want to be flakey all the time!)
I’m going back to the beauty therapist this Tuesday to get a facial, I might ask her about it then!
Can’t wait to see what this facial will do for my skin! :)
Take care,
Love Erin.
Tea Tree Oil…
I tested out the tea tree oil on acne trick the other day, and had negative results. On the incredibly teeny pimple (and I mean TINY!) on my chin just under my bottom lip it seemed to work alright. Didn’t completely get rid of the pimple, but seemed to stop it from spreading and after a few days it did help.
However, I put some on my cheek, and I now have a HUGE pimple! It could just be coincidence, but I felt as though the tea tree was a little too harsh for my cheeks!
So, tea tree oil will probably work on really small pimples, but if you’ve got pimples that go deep into the surface of the skin, it’s not going to do anything for them… In fact, it’ll probably make them more inflamed, sore and crazy!
However, do try it out, as I have sensitive skin, so tea tree oil may work wonders for you! :)
feelingoodlivenbetter asked: hi, i just started following you & i love the tips you have been posting because i suffer from acne scars as well. i was just wondering, have you had any microdermabrasion treatments, or considered it?
Hey, thank you! I haven’t yet tried microdermabrasion! I’m still waiting for my active blemishes to subside! I don’t really want to blast the tops off the pimples that are already there hehe! :)
I’m hoping to try it one day though! Sometimes the scars are the hardest thing to get rid of! As if the acne wasn’t enough! Ohh well, that’s the way it goes! I wish you the best with everything! :)
Stay positive!
Anonymous asked: what age did you start getting acne
I started noticing significant amounts of blackheads/whiteheads at the age of about 12-13 (when the hormones started kicking in). The actual pimples started when I was about 15-16 and started getting progressively worse from that point onward! Im lucky that my acne isn’t so sever though, I’ve been reading and looking at a lot online, and some girls start getting it at the age of 6! And some cases can be quite sever!
longafteronceuponatime asked: So I just came across your blog after looking for ways to treat acne. I have had acne since I started middle school and was constantly picked on about my skin. A quick tip that has recently helped me clear my skin within the week DRAMATICALLY! On the bottles it says to put cleanser on palms, DONT! Rub onto fresh clean washcloth, the washcloth acts as scrubber will appling your cleanser! You've probably already posted to do this but I wasn't sure! Love the blog!
Thank you for reminding me, my beauty therapist today was actually telling me to do exactly this! I have been putting it in my clean hands, and I guess that’s ok, but you don’t get the added benefits! Thank you very much for your advice! I wish you the best! Take care.
Erin.
New facial routine
So, I went to a beauty therapist today for a skin consultation. She suggested some products for my skin and I bought them and will be trying them out tonight!
I have no makeup on and am at uni at the moment, feeling a little insecure, however, I’m trying not to focus on that fact. I’m feeling quite confident. In the beginning I kept seeing people looking at me and I immediately thought that they were judging. Whether they were or not doesn’t matter however, and I am beginning to get over it!
I’m really excited to try these new products and see whether they help with the inflammation! They all have aloe vera in them, which might help with the redness!
The brand is called Mukti, it’s an organic brand, which is nice, they don’t use any harsh chemicals, like they do in the usual acne face treatments.
I’ve got the cleansing lotion, jojoba facial exfoliant and the balancing facial creme. My beauty therapist also gave me a tester of the Vitamin Earth mask which I might try out tonight! I’m hoping I see some improvement in the next few weeks! I’m hoping to get a facial done next week. All of this is going to be very expensive, but I figure, if it’s going to result in clear skin, then I’m happy!
